At The Grand 1401, we love seeing couples bring their wedding vision to life in unique ways that highlight the versatility of our venue. Curtis and Hayley’s wedding in our Grand Ballroom was a perfect example of how you can seamlessly host both your ceremony and reception in the same space while creating an unforgettable experience for your guests.
The Perfect Ceremony Setup
With 230 guests in attendance, Curtis and Hayley opted for an intimate ceremony setup designed for 208 guests. As you can see in the layout, they utilized the dance floor area for guest seating during the ceremony. One of the most creative and efficient details was how they repurposed their sweetheart table backdrop as the backdrop for their ceremony. For the ceremony itself, their sweetheart table was moved to the side, then placed back after the vows were exchanged. This thoughtful planning allowed them to make the most of the ballroom’s space while maintaining a beautiful aesthetic.

Smooth Transition from Ceremony to Reception
Following their heartfelt ceremony, guests moved to the bar area for cocktail hour, giving our team time to seamlessly remove the ceremony chairs and clear up the dance floor for the reception. This smooth transition is one of the many benefits of hosting both your ceremony and reception in the Grand Ballroom—your guests remain in the same location, and there’s no need to worry about additional transportation or logistical challenges.
Elevated Decor Without the Overwhelm
One of the key takeaways from this wedding is how Curtis and Hayley embraced the natural beauty of our venue. They kept their decor minimal, proving that The Grand 1401’s built-in charm allows you to create a stunning wedding without excessive decorations. Another great design choice was their use of fruitwood chairs, which complemented the ballroom’s classic elegance while adding a touch of rustic warmth. The result? A timeless and effortlessly beautiful celebration.

A Unique & Iconic Touch
One standout feature of Curtis and Hayley’s wedding was their decision to add marquee signage at the historic Warnors Theatre for their event. Seeing their names in lights as guests arrived was a magical touch, making for incredible photos and an unforgettable first impression. This added element made their wedding feel even more special and set the tone for a truly one-of-a-kind celebration.
