Planning an event at The Grand 1401? If you’re considering serving alcohol at your wedding, corporate function, or special celebration, we offer a unique level of flexibility that sets us apart. Unlike many venues that require you to purchase alcohol exclusively through them, our open vendor policy allows you to bring in your own beverages. This means you have full control over your bar—choosing your preferred brands, customizing signature drinks, and, most importantly, staying within your budget.
For couples and event planners, this flexibility can lead to significant savings compared to per-drink or package pricing at other venues. Whether you’re stocking up on your favorite spirits, selecting premium wines, or offering a limited selection to keep costs down, the choice is entirely yours.
Not Looking to Handle the Bar? No Problem!
If you’d rather leave the bar service to the experts, we’ve got you covered. We work with trusted bartending vendors who can provide everything—from the alcohol to the bartenders, mixers, and garnishes. These professionals ensure a smooth and responsible bar experience while allowing you to focus on enjoying your event

Bringing Your Own Alcohol: What You Need to Know
One of the biggest advantages of hosting your event at The Grand 1401 is that we allow you to bring your own alcohol. This can be a major cost-saving benefit, as you’re not required to purchase beverages through a specific vendor. However, to maintain a safe and compliant environment, all alcohol must be served by a licensed bartender, and self-service is strictly prohibited.
Hiring a Licensed Bartender
To ensure responsible alcohol service, The Grand 1401 requires that all alcohol be served by a licensed and insured bartender. You are welcome to hire your preferred bartending service, or we can provide recommendations from our list of trusted vendors. Bartenders must adhere to all local and state liquor laws, including checking IDs, monitoring alcohol consumption, and refusing service when necessary. Additionally, all licensed bartenders must provide an RSB (Responsible Beverage Service) certification before the event.
Event Insurance & Liquor License Requirements
For any event where alcohol is served, we require event insurance that includes liquor liability coverage. This policy protects both you and the venue from any unforeseen incidents related to alcohol consumption. We have partnered with Academy West Insurance to make obtaining event insurance simple and stress-free. Their team is available to assist you in securing the necessary coverage for your event.
If you plan to sell alcohol at your event, you must obtain a liquor license. Proper documentation must be submitted before the event, and approval is required. Reach out to us for more information on how to secure the necessary permits for your event.

Alcohol Safety & Venue Rules
- Security at the Bar: To ensure safety and prevent underage drinking, we always designate a security guard by the bar at every event.
- Liquor Bottle Restrictions: Guests are not allowed to take liquor bottles to their tables unless pre-approved. Typically, bottles are only allowed at the bride and groom’s table.
- No Glass Outside at The Grand on 10: If your event is in The Grand on 10, glass is not allowed outside. Drinks must be poured into cups before being taken to outdoor areas.
- No Drinks Outside the Venue: Guests cannot take drinks outside the venue. The only exception is if they are stepping onto the veranda at The Grand on 10.
- Alcohol Service Cut-Off Time: To maintain a responsible and enjoyable environment, we recommend setting an alcohol service cut-off time at least 30 minutes before the event ends.
- Signature Cocktails & Specialty Drinks: Want to add a personal touch? Work with your bartender to create signature drinks that reflect your event’s theme or personal style.
